Six youngsters from the Chichester Falcons Junior Fastpitch section of the club have been selected to represent Great Britain at U16 and U18 age groups this year.

Beau Arnold, Jack Ashby-Lloyd, Raul Dodson-Richi, Jonah Lord-Taylor, Charlie Thacker and Nathan Wyborn all travelled to Milton Keynes in March to trial for the national team squads, where they were put through their paces by the GB coaching staff. Various testing protocols were carried out to observe their sprinting, agility, hitting and throwing metrics before some scrimmages to see how they performed in game situations.

Three of the group have been playing with the Falcons organisation since a very young age, starting out in the Little League Baseball programme and working their way up to fastpitch softball as they approached high school age.

All the players will be competing in the Great Britain Fastpitch League in Slough, where they will be playing both with and against high level senior players as well as their new GB youth team mates. The league is played out over five weekends throughout the spring and summer. In between this, they can continue to hone their game at weekly Falcons sessions at Oaklands Park.
